tissue engineering, regenerative medicine
Research Interests:
Cells interact with factors in surrounding environments (e.g. growth factors, extracellular matrix, biomaterials or physical stimuli) and are consequently committed to form tissues with variant structures and functions. Thus, we can educate the cells by providing them with specific biophysical and biochemical factors during in vitro culture, and then the cells could accordingly form desired tissues or even organs. Our group focus on developing various engineered tissues as grafts for clinical applications and as models for basic research, via utilizing dynamic bioreactor-based culture system, biomaterials and/or stem cells.
