Group Introduction

Research Area:
Lipidomics, Biological Mass Spectrometry, Chemical Biology
Research Interests:

Our lab leverages cutting-edge mass spectrometry technologiesalongside interdisciplinary approaches, including cell biology, animal models, chemical biology, and bioinformatics, to investigate the role of lipid metabolism in human diseases. Lipids play multifaceted roles in biology, acting as energy sources for cells, integral constituents of membranes, and signaling molecules that regulate diverse biological processes. Lipidomics seeks to systematically identify and quantify the complete set of lipids in cells, tissues, or organisms. Mass spectrometry, with its high sensitivity, throughput, and precision, has become the cornerstone of lipidomics research.

Our research focuses on three areas:

1. Developing mass spectrometry-based lipidomics methods and data analysis tools to improve lipid identification and quantification;

2. Integrating lipidomics with proteomics, transcriptomics, and other omics approaches to investigate the role of lipid metabolism in human diseases, with a particular focus on neurological disorders;

3. Elucidating the biosynthesis and degradation pathways of lipids to identify new strategies for modulating endogenous lipid levels.
