The First SLST Frontier of Metabolic Research and Translational Medicine Forum was successfully held by School of Life Science and Technology of ShanghaiTech University on December 9-10th in the Yueyang Road Campus of ShanghaiTech University.
The Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of ShanghaiTech University, Dr. Jie Yin, gave the opening remarks. Dr. Jiarui Wu, Deputy Director of SLST presided at the forum and introduced the progress of the preparation and the development planning of SLST. Dr. Y. Eugene Chen, Dr. Liangyou Rui, and Dr. Jiandie Lin from University of Michigan, Dr. Youxing Jiang from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Ming Zhou from Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Qiqun Tang from Fudan University, Dr. Yong Liu and Dr. Baoliang Song from Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences, CAS and Dr. Winnie Shum from ShanghaiTech University attended the forum and presented their research works. The presentations were focused on the metabolic biology, including the latest progress in cardiovascular related diseases, obesity, diabetes, cholesterol metabolism, ion channels and germ cell development.
As part of the celebration for the official establishment of ShanghaiTech University, more than 100 people from ShanghaiTech University, SIBS and Fudan University attended the forum.
