Biomolecular NMR Facility

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR) is a powerful technique that can provide information on structure and dynamics of various biological and synthetic molecules at the atomic level. The Biomolecular NMR Facility is an open access research facility located on the basement floor of Y building. It offers state-of-the-art instrumentation for both solution and solid-state NMR to support NMR-related researches and education across disciplines at Shanghaitech University and surrounding region. The facility is available to researchers who can run NMR experiments independently, or just submit samples for measurements. New NMR methods are always developed and introduced to advance the scope of NMR applications and our capabilities. Anyone interested in NMR is encouraged to stop by and discuss how NMR can help to address your biological questions.

1. Bruker AVANCE NEO 700 MHz

Ÿ   System: Avance NEO

Ÿ   Magnet: 16.4 T

Ÿ   Console: 4 channels

Ÿ   Probe:

-          3.2 mm MAS HCN probe

-          3.2 mm MAS HCP probe

-          1.9 mm MAS HCND probe

-          0.7 mm MAS HCN probe

-          5 mm TXI HCN probe with ATM

Ÿ   Software: Topspin 4.0

Ÿ   Application: The 700 MHz NMR spectrometer is capable of performing most of modern NMR experiments for small molecules as well as for bio-molecular research. Fast magic-angle-spinning (MAS) probes allow for investigations of non-soluble systems, like membrane proteins, aggregates, and large complexes.

 

We also provide access to 800 MHz and 600 MHz spectrometers equipped TCI cryoprobe for solution NMR studies.
