From December 19 to 20, 2025, the Frontiers of Life Science and Technology 2025 (FoLST2025) was successfully held at ShanghaiTech University. FoLST2025 was hosted by the School of Life Science and Technology (SLST) at ShanghaiTech University and co-organized by the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS), the iHuman Institute (iHuman), the Shanghai Clinical Research and Trial Center, and the National Center for Protein Science Shanghai (NCPSS). The conference brought together nearly 600 renowned scientists, experts, young scholars, and students from various fields, aiming to provide a platform for in-depth discussion on the latest advances in life science and technology, and to promote academic exchange and collaboration across disciplines.

FoLST2025 featured eight major themes: Biomedicine and Pharmacology, Developmental and Regenerative Biology, Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics, Metabolism and Physiology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Neuroscience, Computational Structural Biology, and Infection and Immunology. For each theme, distinguished scientists in the field were invited to deliver keynote reports, providing attendees with a high-level academic event.

The conference placed special emphasis on the academic growth of young scholars and honing students' skills in delivering academic presentations, offering them abundant opportunities to showcase their work. A dedicated session for graduate student academic presentations was arranged, where 69 SLST graduate students took the stage to introduce their latest research findings. Concurrently, a poster session was held where 62 students and young scholars presented their research progress and engaged in face-to-face discussions and exchanges with experts and scholars in the field.

The conference also organized a roundtable discussion. Several graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and assistant research fellows were invited to discuss the challenges and prospects in scientific research, offering valuable advice to students and young scholars.
